New Members!
Four new members entered the interaction lab in the spring semester of 2021. Jungeun Lee (left-top) entered the lab as a Ph.D student. Her master’s thesis was about the prediction model of electric muscle stimulation. Jeongwoo Kim (right-top) started his degree with an integrated master’s and Ph.D program. He studied vibrotactile feedback for weight perception in our lab as an undergraduate student. Jaejun Park (left-bottom) and Daehyun Nam (right-bottom) entered the lab with a master’s program. Jaejun Park studied thermal haptic feedback and electrovibration in our lab as an undergraduate student.
Class of 2020
Today, Hyoseung Lee and Jiwan Lee were awarded master’s degrees. Hyoseung Lee presented a master’s thesis about motion effect synthesis based on human walking motion and is going to continue his career as a researcher in the industry. Jiwan Lee presented a master’s thesis about perception of motion effects in 4D experiences and is going to do further research as Ph.D in our lab. Praise for the bright future of our graduates!
A new book about haptics!
Prof. Ki-Uk Kim and Seungmoon Choi co-translated an introductory English book about haptics originally written by Lynette Jones. This book is for readers without specific technological backgrounds and made available by Gimmyoung.
New Research Grant!
We have won a new research grant from the Support Program for the Reinforcement of Science Culture Exhibition Service funded the National Research Foundation of Korea. In this project, we will study the technologies, systems, and long-term user experiences for blending real and virtual exhibits in order to promote in-depth, embodied learning of scientific principles, in close collaboration with Prof. Keehoon Kim in mechanical engineering and his lab members. We will be supported 770 million won for 2.5 years.
Lab Summer Outing
We had a half-day lab outing to Jangsa Beach and Okgye Valley, taking adequate precautions against COVID-19. Though it was a rainy day, we had a very fun time together with delicious food. Thank you so much for Gihong and Chaeyong for organizing it!
Lab name is changed to Interaction Laboratory @ POSTECH!
We have renamed our laboratory from Haptics and Virtual Reality Laboratory to Interaction Laboratory, reflecting our expanded research areas over the past 15 years. A new homepage is also launched, which is what you are looking at.
